hydroleca water management

Drainage

Wave goodbye to overwatered pot plants by placing them on a layer of hydroleca, providing a reservoir where water can drain, gradually evaporating without compost becoming saturated and preventing root damage.

Raising Humidity

When using trays or cover pots, add a layer of hydroleca and place pots on top. When wet, it gradually releases moisture, raising humidity levels around your plants, keeping them healthy in dry, centrally heated rooms.

Mix

Try mixing a handful of hydroleca into compost to provide the perfect balance of airflow and water retention for healthy root growth. For lightweight potting, blend hydroleca into your compost in a ratio of one part hydroleca to three parts compost. You can also improve water retention, aeration, root growth and the health of your plants by adding a layer of hydroleca to the bottom of containers before filling with compost.

Decoration

Add an ornamental layer of hydroleca to the top of compost in pots, containers, window boxes and tubs: you can do this for plants both inside and outdoors!

Did you know?

You can use hydroleca in greenhouses to improve the humidity for happier plants! Fil a tray with a 2cm layer and place your plant pots on top. Keep the hydroleca moist and it will gradually release water into the air around the plants.

  • Use in a well ventilated place and void breathing in dust
  • Wearing gloves is a good idea, and don’t forget to wash your hands afterwards
