Slug Blocker is another new ground breaking product from the garden health innovators at Westland. This easy to use barrier gel protects garden plants from attack from crawling insects, slugs and snails. What’s more it is environmentally friendly, contains no poisons and totally biodegrades into the soil over time, so it is safe to use all around the garden. You can even apply it to vertical stems and surfaces. Simply apply an uninterrupted line of gel around the plants. You can use it whenever slugs, snails and crawling insects are active.
Uses:
Use to protect newly planted plants, emerging seedlings or established plants against attack from slugs, snails and insects. Apply at any time when slugs and snails are active or when damage is expected or seen.
For use outdoors around edible and ornamental plants and flowers, vegetables, fruit trees and bushes. For use in glasshouses, conservatories and under cloches.

The plants in my patio pots seem to be a magnet for slugs during the night. I don’t want to use slug pellets as I have a dog. How can I protect my plants?
First of all you need to remove any slugs or snails present. Look carefully around the rim of the pot, underneath and especially under foliage and pick off any that you find. Use an uninterrupted band of Slug Blocker all around the whole circumference of your planter about 2inches (5cm) from the top. Make sure that foliage does not hang down over this band and create a bridge for snails and slugs to cross. You could also use a band of gel around the bottom of the pot to stop them climbing up. Slug Blocker creates a barrier that slugs and snails will not cross so this will protect your plants. It is also rain resistant. Check regularly inside the pot for snails and slugs for a few weeks in case you have inadvertently trapped any inside the container, or they may have laid eggs in the compost before you applied the gel.
