Multi-Purpose Compost

A specially formulated peat based compost producing an ideal medium for all stages of plant growth. It takes the drainage and aerating benefits of peat, making it easy to use and handle and contains a balance of vital nutrients to ensure that your plants have all the energy they need for the very best start in life. The compost also contains a special wetting agent, enabling the compost to absorb water more easily, making it easier to rewet when dry.

Uses:
As a general purpose seed and potting compost, which is ideal for planting seeds, rooting cuttings, filling containers, window boxes and tubs all year round.

Feeding:
The compost contains enough nutrients to meet plant requirements for the first 3-4 weeks. Thereafter, for best results commence feeding with Feed-all Plant Food.

Nutrient Content & pH:
The compost contains a balanced fertiliser complete with trace elements and has a pH of 5.5 to 6.0. 

Can I use your standard Multi-Purpose Compost for all my plants?
 
You can use Westland Multi-Purpose Compost for most garden plants, but with the specific exception of ericaceous plants as these need acidic conditions. Most Multi-Purpose Composts have lime added to them to increase the pH as this creates the ideal environment for most plants to grow. Specialist ericaceous composts do not have lime added, and this means their pH is lower, i.e. more acidic, and perfect for the growth of acid loving plants.
