Flower Power
Look up into the branches of the trees this month for a succession of soft, elegant flowers, often borne on bare stems that flutter in the breeze. Spring blossom is simply divine. Most are easy to grow and some can even be grown in pots.
Flowering trees are inspirational and add wonderful visual interest to the garden. What’s more you don’t need a large garden to enjoy them. It’s not too late to plant trees this season, but for the best results choose containerised plants that can be planted at almost any time.
Potted Glory
Containers are a great way to introduce instant impact into a corner of your garden. Carefully positioned they can focus attention away from parts of the garden still under construction, or simply lift a dull corner before the garden springs into life. Take time this month to plant up a spring container, it’s an easy way to achieve a new garden feature and you can tailor it to suit your colour scheme, mood or even a momentary whim.
