Spring Beauty

As the days grow longer and spring starts it’s a really exciting time in the garden. The first shoots of spring bulbs push through the cold, dark earth heralding the start of the growing season. The buds of early flowering shrubs are starting to burst as the garden awakens from its winter slumber: It’s your signal to get started; Stalwarts of Spring.

For the gardener this is the true beginning of spring. The natural time for sowing and growing in earnest is just days away. One of the things that makes gardening so exciting is that every year is different. Last year we had a wonderful warm spring. Every year is a new challenge and a new start for the gardener, so keep the momentum going and don’t let a single gardening day slip by without some planning, planting or preparing. Every moment spent now will free up hours more time when spring gets underway.

In the gardening calendar Easter is traditionally the time when gardeners change into their gardening clothes and get out into the garden in earnest. This year Easter is in March, so the gardening season starts earlier than ever. Take time to enjoy the early spring days, the wonderful spring sunshine and the glorious light at this time of year.
