Slug pellets, when used responsibly, are an effective way to control garden slugs and snails. For the best and safest results it is essential to use them sparingly. You do not need to make piles of them around your plants and in fact this is the biggest misuse of this product. Just a few pellets, spread evenly over the area will be more than effective. If you are still concerned then try using the pellets creatively. Place a jam jar on its side; place a couple of lettuce leaves inside and one or two pellets. This will attract the slugs and snails into the jar but keep them out of reach of larger creatures.

Westland Slug & Snail Killer is tainted so that the pellets are not attractive to domestic animals and they are also mould resistant to reduce the need for reapplication.

When used responsibly Slug & Snail Killer is an effective and reliable way to deal with the problems of garden slugs and snails.

Is there a long-term solution for keeping paved areas free from weeds?
Use Path and Patio Weed Killer, it not only works on existing weeds but also remains active for a full 12 months, preventing new weeds from germinating and growing. Each pack contains 5 sachets that can be used to treat separate paved areas when required. One sachet is sufficient to treat up to 15 sq. metres.

How can I use your pesticide Bug Killer with out impacting on friendly insects such as ladybirds and bees?
Use garden pesticides responsibly and they will have less impact on the environment. Use Bug Killer at the first sign of a problem to reduce the amount you need to spray and the frequency of application. This is a contact insecticide, so it has only an effect on the insects it is sprayed onto. This allows the user to avoid beneficial insects. Westland Bug Killer is based on naturally occurring compounds called pyrethrins that have low persistence in the environment and actually work on contact with the pest rather than systemically.

Always read the label and follow the instructions to the letter You can also be more responsible by avoiding use on or near open flowers where beneficial insects may be feeding.
